Nivi Bridal Drape

Weddings · Haldi · Mehendi · Engagement · Reception

This is the drape I come back to again and again — the classic, the one every bride already recognizes the moment she sees it. There is nothing to prove with a Nivi. It is confident because it does not need to be anything other than itself.

The Nivi is the most widely recognized saree drape in India — a single pallu draped over the left shoulder, with pleats tucked neatly at the front waist and fully customized to you, starting at a minimum of 9. Its roots trace back to ancient Andhra Pradesh, and its modern form was popularized in 1860s Bombay, spreading to become the pan-Indian standard worn across every community and region. It is equally at home at a wedding ceremony, a Haldi morning full of turmeric and laughter, or a Mehendi evening — versatile enough for silk, cotton, georgette or chiffon.

Complimentary Trial Drape

Every bride gets a complimentary trial run before her big day — she chooses her pleat count, the width of each pleat, and whether she prefers a fuller, puffier finish or a clean, flat one, so Smitha drapes it exactly to her preference.
