Madisar
Iyer Madisar (9 to 10 Yard)
Iyer Weddings · Tamil Brahmin Weddings · Vratham
This is the Madisar draped the full, traditional way — no shortcuts, nine to ten yards of saree from the very first fold. There is a rhythm to draping it this way that I have come to love, and it shows in how the finished drape sits.
The Iyer Madisar is defined by pleats tied at the back and a pallu draped over the right shoulder, with an additional kosuvam tucked at the back hip — a detail unique to the Iyer tradition. Neutral tones are traditional here — beige, off-white, light pink — often with mayilkan striped patterns bearing kodi or rudraksha motifs. This is the full nine-to-ten-yard saree, draped entirely from scratch for your ceremony, with nothing pre-stitched.
Complimentary Trial Drape
Every bride gets a complimentary trial run before her big day — she chooses her pleat count, the width of each pleat, and whether she prefers a fuller, puffier finish or a clean, flat one, so Smitha drapes it exactly to her preference.
